NOOR ABED

Noor Abed (b.1988, Jerusalem) is an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker. Her practice examines notions of choreography and the imaginary relationship of individuals, creating situations for alternative social and representational models in Palestine. 

Abed attended the Whitney Independent Study Program in Νew York in 2015-16, and the Home Workspace Program (HWP) at Ashkal Alwan 2016-17. She received her BA from the International Academy of Arts in Palestine and a MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles. Abed was a fellow in documenta (13)’s “Department of Maybe Educatiοn and Public Programs” in Kassel, Germany).

BOJANA CVEJIĆ

Bojana Cvejić (Belgrade) is a performance theorist and performance maker based in Brussels. She is a co-founding member of TkH editorial collective with whom she has realized many projects and publications. Cvejić received her PhD in philosophy from the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, London and MA and BA degrees in musicology and aesthetics from the Faculty of Music, University of the Arts, Belgrade.

MARIAH GARNETT

Mariah Garnett mixes documentary, narrative and experimental filmmaking practices to make work that accesses existing people and communities beyond her immediate experience. Using source material that ranges from found text to iconic gay porn stars, Garnett often inserts herself into the films, creating cinematic allegories that codify and locate identity.

MATT POLZIN

Matt Polzin is a fiction writer, scholar of queer longing, amateur cellist, and a gluten-free baker. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from California Institute of the Arts, and is currently a Ph.D. student at University of California, Santa Cruz. His fiction has appeared in Chicago Quarterly Review, Bathhouse Journal, and the DittoDitto's Recording Reading Archive. He also co-wrote the feature film Estuaries, which screened at Frameline Film Festival and Outfest this summer.

LIOR SHAMRIZ

Lior Shamriz creates films, installations, and music. They have an MFA from the Berlin University of Arts and are currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Film and Digital Media at University of California, Santa Cruz. Shamriz’s oeuvre includes feature-length independent/experimental narrative films, many short experimental fiction, documentary and essay films, and two dozens of commissioned poetry films. They were featured at the Berlinale (2010,13,15), Locarno IFF, Sarajevo IFF, MoMA’s ND/NF, BAFICI, Frameline, MixNYC, Torino IFF, Outfest, Walker Art Center, Redcat Los Angeles and KW Berlin, among other venues and festivals. They won awards at Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage (2013,14,15), and received retrospectives by the Thessaloniki International Festival (2012), Ars Independent Katowice (2012), SteakCinema Seoul (2021), and the Berlin Art Film Festival (2015).

ELBE TRAKAL

Elbe Trakal (*1988, Dresden, East Germany) is a filmmaker, writer and participatory artist based in Berlin. Through collaborative process, performative rituals, historical interrogation and psychodynamic research Trakal develops films, texts and installations that deal with the impact that neoliberal subject production, post-socialist processes and surveillance technology have on the formation of communities. Trakal’s work has been shown among others at Museum for Photography Berlin, Museum Folkwang Essen, Cinemateca Distrital Bogotá, Savvy Contemporary Berlin, Athens Biennale. Trakal is co-hosting the science-fiction and theory study group Xenoverse and is running the ongoing series on post-socialist world building and literature Magical Materialism, both out of Berlin. Trakal is a PhD-candidate at the Filmuniversity “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam.
